Jade has been practising yoga for over 35 years and teaching since 1994, having trained in the Sivananda style. She has practised many traditions including Iyengar and Scaravelli. She was really encouraged and inspired by her Iyengar teacher, Elizabeth Wengersky and various others along the way, so today her teachings are a combination of different styles of Hatha yoga.
Her classes are taught at a slow pace, focusing on static postures and breath awareness. Jade taught at The Art of Health and Yoga centre in London for 8 years, where she was working with young children, teenagers and pre and post natal mothers, as well as regular drop-in classes.
She continues to practise and learn from each experience, including leading yoga retreats in her birth country South Africa each February. She also runs regular workshops at Yoga Akasha.
Jades’ emphasis lies in creating a warm and welcoming approach to all classes which clearly benefit her student’s health and wellbeing.
